IIT JEE one of the elite exam in India. As we all know, the Indian Institute of Technology(s) (IIT) is one of the prestigious colleges in our Country. The course and the curriculum which has been followed by them is completely remarkable. Over the years IITs have created a world class educational platform which is expanding rapidly. The IIT JEE entrance exam:- 

The first question often arises in our mind is what exactly this exam is and why the students start preparing at an early age. IIT JEE is an entrance level exam for the students who want to pursue Engineering from renowned IITs across the country. They appear for this exam and once they clear the assigned cut-off there will be counselling for those students who have acquired higher ranks in the exam. Once the counselling is done the IITs all over the country are allotted to the students.

The IIT JEE Exam Pattern:- 

IIT JEE has been categorized into two segments i.e. Paper 1 & Paper 2. The Paper 1 is JEE Mains which is the basic entry level for all the students. In this exam the level of difficulty is moderate. It is not that tough for the students to clear this exam. Paper 2 is JEE Advance. Only those students who have cleared JEE mains exam are eligible for JEE Advance. All the questions are objective based on Aptitude and Comprehension. And to check the analytical ability of the students. The subjects are Physics, Chemistry & Math.

The IIT JEE Eligibility :- 

For JEE Mains:- 

The cut off for general category students in Class XII should be 75 % in board exams with Physics, Chemistry & Maths/ Biology. And for SC-ST category the cut-off is 65% in the equivalent subject. There is no age limit to appear in JEE Main. 

Candidates are eligible to appear for JEE mains exam in three consecutive years from the year he/she appears in Class XII exams.

IIT JEE

For JEE Advance:- 

Candidates who crack JEE Mains exams with all the satisfying criteria are allowed to sit in this exam. The Candidates should be in top 2,50,000 candidates (including reserve Category) clearing JEE Mains Paper-1.

New Selection Criteria for JEE Mains & Advance Process:- 

Only one entrance exam will be taken for IITs, NITs & IITs. The exam will consist of two papers- Mains & Advance Test which includes the basic testing ability regarding Physics, Chemistry & Maths. The duration of the test will be 3 hours. 

The top 1,50,000 (Including all categories) are allowed to appear in JEE Advance based on their performance.

For Chemistry:- 

  1. NCERT Chemistry – Class 11 and 12
  2. Organic Chemistry and Inorganic Chemistry – O.P. Tandon
  3. Organic Chemistry – Jagdamba Singh

For Mathematics:- 

  1. Course in Mathematics for IIT-JEE – Tata McGraw Hill
  2. Mathematics for Class 11 and 12 – R.D. Sharma
  3. Coordinate Geometry for IIT-JEE – S.K. Goyal
  4. Differential Calculus for IIT-JEE – Amit Agarwal
